Boë Violet Gin Fizz
Boë Violet Gin Fizz
While picking a tiny bouquet of violets in my backyard I was reminded of a fabulous drink I had during my trip to the UK in May, 2019. Fortunately I was able to bring back a small bottle of this gorgeous violet gin so I could make the cocktail at home.
The Violet Gin Fizz is made with Boë Violet Gin, a distiller in the small village of Throsk near Stirling Castle in Scotland. This gin is a beautiful shade of purple and has a wonderful violet flavor and aroma, much like the famous Parma Violet candies popular in the UK.
Here’s how to make the Violet Gin Fizz:
Combine 1 1/2 oz. @boe_gin violet gin with 8 ounces of tonic in a glass over ice.
If you can’t find a violet gin, use your favorite brand of gin and combine it with 1/2 Tbsp of @monin_usa violet syrup. My favorite tonic is @qmixersspectacular tonic, which really lives up to its name.
This gin certainly made the most wonderful cocktail, full of floral flavor, perfect for a sunny afternoon on the back patio.
