Inventive All-Day Dining in Fitzrovia

Riding House Fitzrovia

The Full and Proper Breakfast and Eggs Benedict Florentine at Riding House Fitzrovia

Open since 2011, Riding House Fitzrovia serves inventive breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails seven days a week. Located just a few blocks north of Oxford Street, this cheerful cafe is a great place to escape from the hustle and bustle of nearby Oxford Circus.

The bright and spacious dining area is tastefully decorated with hanging plants, large windows communal tables as well as cozy booths upholstered with bright orange fabric. Hosts and servers are friendly and welcoming, ready to share their favorite dishes with you from the menu which draws inspiration globally. From Middle Eastern-inspired dukkah topped avocado toast to Japanese miso glazed cod, the eclectic menu has something for just about every taste.

I singled out this cafe specifically for their Full and Proper Breakfast, a generous plate of British breakfast favorites that includes smoked streaky Dingley Dell bacon, Old Spot sausage, black pudding, St. Ewe eggs (cooked your way), BBQ beans, field mushroom, confit tomatoes and toast. The bbq baked beans were a standout, consisting of broad beans cooked in a sweet and savory tomato sauce with just the right amount of heat.

Avocado & Chard Florentine Eggs Benedict at Riding House Fitzrovia

During our visit my husband and I also tried their Avocado & Chard Benedict, a combination of toasted English muffin topped with avocado and chard Florentine, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, buckwheat groats and pumpkin seeds. The hollandaise was perfectly cooked, eggs poached with runny yolks and seeds and groats that added a unique crunch to the Benedict, setting it apart from others served around town.

The matcha lattes were also prepared just right, served in tall clear glasses.

During my next visit I look forward to trying their Malted Deep Dish Pancakes topped with toasted marshmallows, coconut clotted cream, white chocolate and a banana-infused maple syrup. Anything topped with clotted cream is enough to get me to come back!
